IB @ CHS

The IB Diploma program combines breath and depth and is the finest pre-university education. Universities all over the world including Jordan, Lebanon, and Sharjah welcome the IB Diploma as it is the guarantee of a well-educated student.

Students choose one subject out of each of the following six groups:

  1. English A1 or Arabic A1 at standard level.
  2. English B or Arabic A2 or Arabic B at higher level or Arabic Ab Initio.
  3. Business and Management at either level or Information Technology in a Global Society at either level.
  4. Biology at either level or Physics at either level.
  5. Math or Math Studies at standard level.
  6. Visual Arts at either level or Chemistry at higher level.

Normally three subjects are studied at higher level and three at standard level. Both the choice of subjects and the level depend on the student's strengths, interest and intended subject of study at university.

All students also follow a program of Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). The CAS program stimulates the students' creative and artistic skills, provides them with a variety of sport activities and gives them opportunities to work with the members of the local community. The TOK course looks at the foundations of all human knowledge and thus provides a critical perspective of learning.
